Is there life after Physics? – Physik Alumni meets students

On April 25 at 18:15, we are welcoming all students of the Faculty to a get-together to discuss their concerns, questions, and plans around the future after graduation.

One of the main ides behind the relaunch of Physik Alumni is that all students at the Faculty, no matter at what stage, are already alumni. This idea doesn’t stop at considering them alumni. We want current students to participate actively in the conception of the activities carried out by Physik Alumni. These are some of the reasons why:

Students are the ones facing their future: What are the worries of students regarding their life after graduation? What are the most attractive sectors for them? Which career paths are interesting but unclear? All these questions can only be answered by students. Therefore, the first step to identifying which issues are important for them is for them to actively let us know.

Students are the core of the Faculty’s community: more than 80% of the people at the Faculty are students. From undergraduates to PhD students, they are a varied and vibrant collection of individuals, who have much to offer to our initiative. We consider that only through dialogue can we manage to make them feel part of the Faculty and, once they have left it, continue participating in our community.

Students are experts in career developing: through formal and informal networks, many students learn about opportunities and career tips. That is why we want to facilitate intentional spaces for them to share this information and get to know others from whom to learn.

We are looking forward to getting to meet many of you and building a great project together. We will be offering beverages and snacks to all participants!
